Sabores de Nicaragua

Location: Nicaroma Cafe, Toronto
Theme: Ode to Nicaragua and Central America
Client: Nicaroma Cafe
Year: 2025
Medium: Interior Latex paint

Nicaroma Café commissioned this custom mural to celebrate the cultural richness of Nicaragua and the wider Central American region. I designed the piece as a vibrant visual map of Nicaragua, combining illustration and hand-drawn lettering to transform the café wall into a joyful storytelling surface.

The mural features iconic symbols such as nacatamal with coffee, traditional folkloric dance, marimba music, coastal landscapes, and beloved Nicaraguan expressions like “Tuani,” “Dale pues,” and “Qué nota, maje.” Each element was intentionally illustrated to reflect warmth, pride, and cultural connection, inviting customers to engage with the space through colour, language, and shared memory.

Bold colours and playful forms were chosen to complement Nicaroma’s brand identity while creating an uplifting atmosphere rooted in community and heritage. This Toronto café mural functions as both a custom art installation and a cultural conversation starter, celebrating Central American identity through public art and expressive lettering.
