El soñador

The task: To create a lettering piece for the opening of a short film called “El Soñador” (the dreamer), using pre-Columbian symbols from Aztec and Mayan cultures. The lettering needs to have golden yellow and white, the opening title is mainly black as the film is black and white.
The short film is a story about an immigrant Latinx in Canada who grows up to be an artist. It shows the cultural struggle and barriers he has to face, as his parents have put a lot of cultural and social expectations on who he should become.
